Little Book of Christmas Trips
You’ll find many more ideas in the City & Village Tours
Little Book of Christmas Trips
, which is published each April.
You’ll find lots of great ideas for your group to celebrate
Christmas including our
Christmas Lunch Special Tours
designed to ring the changes on your 2013 group Christmas
lunch. In the morning enjoy a short and entertaining tour
with a top notch guide, which will really break the ice with
your group and whet their appetites. Arrive at a lovely pub or
restaurant at 12.30pm to be greeted by a glass of sherry before
sitting down to a tasty Christmas dinner with all the trimmings
at tables dressed for the season. Instead of serving desserts
and coffee straight away and chasing you out of the door the
afternoon is yours. Enjoy a good chat, join in a festive quiz,
play board games and card games or even doze by the fire!
At 3.45pm coffee and mince pies, included in the ticket, will
be served ready for you to head home at 4.45pm after a really
enjoyable group Christmas celebration.
Destinations include Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire,
Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk
and London.
The Mighty Wurlitzer Christmas Concert
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays 26 November to 5 December 2013
Watch the magnificent Mighty Wurlitzer
rise from the orchestra pit just like it
used to at the pictures and enjoy the
dexterity of organ supremo Len Rawles
in a programme of seasonal favourites
including a very entertaining demo of the
weirdly wonderful Theremin, a comic
monologue or two, an old fashioned
sing-along and sherry and mince pies.
Then we’ll take you for an entertaining
tour of the London Christmas Lights
finishing up with time for hot drinks by
one of London’s festive ice skating rinks.
Arrive at the Musical Museum in West
London at 2.30pm to hang your coats
in the free cloakroom before taking your
seats for the concert at 3.00pm. Dark
falls in the theatre and in the hush the
Wurlitzer rises majestically from the pit.
Your folk will be smiling from the off!
Master of Ceremonies, Richard Coles,
will play the pianola, the barmy
Theremin and even the household saw!
Len will provide Wurlitzer atmospherics
for a comic monologue or two and you
can all join in a fun sing-along that really
gets the Christmas spirit going.
The concert lasts one hour and then
following sherry and a mince pie and
with everyone in a lovely festive spirit
we set off for a ride through the London
Christmas Lights finishing at the
Somerset House Rink while it’s still
nice and quiet for loos and refreshments.
You’ll be heading for home by 6.45pm.
Full payment is required one month
before the concert.
