City & Village Tours 2012 Brochure
The City & Village Tours 2012 brochure with
prices that take you right through to the end
of March 2013 was published last November.
We believe that as many as one in ten of the
brochures we posted just disappeared into the
ether! So this means you might not have our
most up to date offering.
It looks like this.
If you do not have a copy of the brochure with
this front cover please let us know and we will
send one to you. Also if you’d like another copy
let us know.
If you want to look at it right now you can click
to read the brochure online.
The 2012 brochure contains a range of
itineraries to appeal to a broad range of groups.
Explore
itineraries are classic City &
Village days for groups who like to see a lot
without walking too far. Explore days might take
you to the coast, the countryside, a city or an
historic garden but wherever you go the itinerary
is designed to blend commentary time with time
for private browsing and to enjoy the company
of your fellows. Our tour guide is your master of
ceremonies providing a continuous flow of
interest as the day moves seamlessly from one
interesting thing to the next.
Together Tours
are entertaining
days out with a top notch tour guide during
which the group sits together for morning coffee
with biscuits and a main course lunch included
in the tour fee of £18.95 per person. In addition
to representing good value for money these trips
take away any worries your members may have
about striking out on their own in an unfamiliar
place to look for lunch and they rule out the
lottery of relying on good weather and the
availability of a dry bench for a packed lunch.
Lifelong Learning
When we designed these erudite and entertaining
day trips we had in mind U3As, National Trusts,
Historical & Antiquarian Societies and Decorative
& Fine Arts Societies, but they are popular with
all groups that really like to get their teeth into
a subject. There are more Lifelong Learning
itineraries on our website which you can find at
www.cityandvillagetours.com.
Our Blue Badge Guides
All of our guides have the Blue Badge – the
highest guiding qualification in the UK. The Blue
Badge course is always over-subscribed and is
very demanding, with a terrifying range of written
and practical examinations. Not everyone passes,
not by a long chalk. And not everyone who
passes has the right blend of skills to be a guide
with City & Village Tours. Beyond and above
phenomenal knowledge we also require kindness,
patience, warmth, a sense of humour and the
ability to be heard clearly, especially by older folk.
It’s a critical mix of skills that our regular groups
recognise instantly. And it is an award winning
mix – we have received nine awards for the best
guided tours in the country.
So although there are over 1500 holders of the
Blue Badge in the UK there are only 30 guides in
the City & Village Tours team. There is no random
allocation from a long list, no lottery when you
book a day out with City & Village Tours.
You get a great guide every time.
An award-winning guide.
