We know that some group organisers are
already thinking in terms of 2013 bookings
so here is a round up what can be booked
now and of new trips to come.
With the exception of fixed term exhibitions
(e.g. Dickens London which finishes in June
2012) all of the trips in the current brochure
will continue to be available throughout 2013.
Indeed the current brochure trips are available
at the current brochure and website prices for all
trips that take place on or before 31 March 2013.
So here are some great trips that:
you can
book now for January,
February & March 2013 at the
current published prices
will keep your folk warm and
entertained whatever the weather
are ideal for a group that enjoys
getting their teeth into a subject
Legal London
This day traces the history of the English legal
system, its practitioners and their London
accommodations in the historic Inns of Court.
The day includes a visit to the Middle Temple
Hall and the Royal Courts of Justice in the
Strand. The price of the tour is £18.95 per
person until the end of March 2013 and includes
morning coffee with biscuits and a carvery
lunch in an iconic Legal London pub.
See page 11 of our current brochure.
Coronations & Celebrations
2012 is Diamond Jubilee year marking 60 years
since Her Majesty’s ascension to the throne but
2013 marks the 60
th
anniversary of the
coronation at Westminster Abbey. Two award
winning Blue Badge Guides are provided for the
afternoon tour of Westminster Abbey and the
scene is set during the morning with an
examination of Her Majesty’s birth and early
years in and around Mayfair. In January &
February it is possible to add morning coffee
and biscuits and a carvery lunch at £9.00
per person to the price of this tour so that it is
included for your members. The new Abbey
Cellarium Cafe has been massively delayed
(in hindsight somewhat predictably) by a string
of seemingly endless archaeological finds once
they scratched off the top soil but should at long
last be up and running by early 2013 to round
off a very satisfying day out.

Jewish London
Jews first settled in
England in 1066 and
there were Jewish
communities in many
towns in the mediaeval
period. But after 1290
when Edward I expelled
the Jews there was no
further official Jewish
settlement in England
until readmission under
Oliver Cromwell in 1656.
The new Jewish community quickly put down
roots, becoming steadily more established until
the late 19th century when it increased rapidly
with the arrival of some 150,000 Jewish
immigrants from Eastern Europe. Many of the
newcomers settled in London’s East End, which
became home to a vibrant cultural and religious
life. This is a fascinating day that includes visits
to the Spanish & Portuguese synagogue at
Bevis Marks in the City of London and the newly
refurbished Jewish Museum at Camden.
Ely & the Fens
Enjoy the winter landscapes of the Fens and
a tour of the magnificent Ely Cathedral. If you
are game wrap up and come early (9.30am or
10.00am) for morning coffee in Newmarket so
that you can see the spectacle of hundreds of
race horses exercising on the town gallops. Our
guide knows all the local faces and characters.
