Martin’s Ceremonial London Coach Tour
The coach can collect us right outside the pub after time
to buy morning coffee ready for Martin to take you on an
exciting and revealing tour telling the inside story of State
and Royal events. Martin will have a Royal Parks Permit
so that you can drive under Admiralty Arch and along
The Mall. Exactly half a nautical mile long this tree lined
avenue was designed as our national ceremonial procession
route - the nation’s red carpet. Martin is a very entertaining
chap full of the most delightful stories of his life as a
musician with the Scots Guards. You’ll see a great deal
of the London of pomp and pageantry and gain a real
insight into what goes into putting on a royal show.
For lunch we stop for free time in lovely old St James’s -
visit a local pub in the heart of the club district and enjoy
window shopping at some of the oldest and grandest shops
in London - By Royal Appointment of course!
The Afternoon Visit Choices
Buckingham Palace 1 August to 27 September 2015
With the Queen away for the summer this is our chance
to visit the State Rooms. Lying at the heart of one of the
world’s last remaining working royal palaces each is
furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection from old
master paintings to priceless Sèvres Porcelain and some of
the finest English and French furniture in the world. Having
heard Martin’s inside stories from working inside the Palace
it will really bring your visit to life - your folk will be so
well informed that they’ll probably find themselves telling
stories about exhibits in the
A Royal Welcome
exhibition
to other Palace visitors! There is time to treat yourself to
tea in the Garden Café housed in a massive marquee on the
Palace Terrace before returning to the coach to head home
at 5.00pm. The Palace visit is available daily from 1 August
to 27 September and can be paired with either the morning
walking tour or the morning coach tour and costs £29.50 for
adults & seniors. You pay just one week before your visit
and we can refund for up to five palace tickets for no shows.
Clarence House Daily 1-30 August 2015
Clarence House is one of the last remaining aristocratic
townhouses in London where our last Edwardian royal
HM The Queen Mother lived for 50 years. Today it is
the much loved London home of HM The Prince of
Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. The Royal couple
have kept the arrangement of the beautiful John Nash
rooms much as they were in The Queen Mother’s time
with many paintings from Her Majesty’s wonderful art
collection still in their original positions.
Following your morning walking tour or coach tour
(you choose which suits your group best) and free time
for lunch in and around St James’s we walk just a few
minutes over to Clarence House You enter Clarence
House by timed ticket - up to 18 people every 15 minutes
which can be awkward for group leaders but don't worry
Martin will organise this and look after and entertain
everyone before you go in. Your guided tour of Clarence
House will be a 45 minute journey into the sumptuous
world of this country’s last royal to live an Edwardian
aristocratic life. There isn't a café at Clarence House
so head home at 4.30pm or opt for a short coach transfer
for a coffee stop nearby and head home at 5.30pm.
