The Emirates Air Line Thames Cable Car is now open
and it’s great fun. We took our first clients on the cable
car within days of the opening and we are taking
bookings now for Autumn, Winter & Christmas cable
car trips. Trips will of course continue into 2013 with full
details to be published in the 2013 brochure (out in
October 2012) but here are a couple of fun ideas for the
Autumn, Winter and Christmas. Most trips include a
return trip on the cable car known as a 360° which means
you don't have to get off and back on after the first leg.
It also means that if anyone in your group doesn’t want
to ride on the cable car the rest of the group will come
back to them!
The Cable Car Capital Tour
Including brunch on a boat and two flights on the
cable car - one in daylight and one in the dark!
What a year it has been for the country and the capital!
This entertaining and unique day is a review of a very
special year during which we travel full circle through
the capital taking in the new cable car both in daylight
and after dark. The day starts with a Full English
breakfast and finishes with time to buy refreshments
at The O
2
before heading home. It is available from
18 September 2012 starting at 12.30pm and finishing at
7.30pm and then once the clocks change from 30 October
the day will start at 11.30am and finish at 6.30pm.
Come and meet the guide at 11.30am/12.30pm for a Full
English breakfast with coffee on board a boat moored in
the Royal Docks. It’s a great spot where the driver can
park up for his break while you enjoy breakfast before
a short coach transfer to the Cable Car which we board
for our first ten minute flight over to The O
2
. This is our
daylight flight. At the end of the afternoon we’ll finish
the tour with an after dark flight on the cable car so that
you get to experience the best of both worlds. At The O
2
you’ll see the new walkway over the roof of the Dome
before heading by coach through historic Greenwich to
see where the Olympic Equestrian events were held.
On past the incredible number of new apartment blocks
springing up and into central London driving past the
bottom of The Shard. This is the tallest building in the
European Union and it is quite something to see at first
hand how it rises from the narrow streets of Bermondsey
wedged against the old brick arches of London Bridge
Station. (The viewing gallery up on the 69th floor opens
in February 2013. Tickets will be £25!).
In central London we’ll drive you along The Mall,
epicentre of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations as part of
an enjoyable run through the West End - why should the
tourists have all the fun!
We’ll drive across London Bridge and Tower Bridge and
head through picturesque old Wapping before slipping
though the East End to drive around the perimeter of the
Olympic Park at Stratford before coming full circle back
to the cable car in the Royal Docks, this time for a
crossing in the dark to see London illuminated. There
will be a stop for hot drinks and loos before the coach
collects you to head home at 6.30/7.30pm. A unique day
capturing the remarkable spirit of a very memorable year.
Available Tuesday - Fridays from 17 September 2012.
Adults & Seniors: £25.00
There is a budget option of this tour available where you
buy your own lunch. The budget option is available every
day from 17 September at £17.95 per person.
Royal Greenwich
Cutty Sark & The Cable Car
Available daily from 24 September 2012
There is so much to see in Royal Greenwich much of it
new in the past few years. We really want to show your
folk the astonishing view from the top of Greenwich Park
which means a walk through the park. But my goodness
what a walk! Half the walk is on the flat from the coach
to the café for morning coffee with the second part down
hill and immediately followed by another chance to sit
down so it should be possible for most of your group.
