The White Cliffs & Walmer Castle
If you are planning to avoid London this
summer and you’d like a memorable day out
for your group with not too much walking and
a lot of variety this could be just the ticket.
The day starts with morning coffee at the
delightful Grand Hotel looking out to sea up on
the cliff at Folkestone and takes a drive through
the little known Alkham Valley before dropping
back to the coast to drive beneath the massive
And foreboding walls of Dover Castle before
stopping at the White Cliffs view point to look for
blue birds! We continue on to Deal for lunch, you
could visit the new fish & chip restaurant at the
end of the pier. In the afternoon Walmer Castle
which works for groups including older folk (you
don’t have to do tons of steps). It’s more like a
small stately home and has wonderful gardens.
