Cruising into Christmas
This photograph was taken from on board
the London Rose on one of our Cruising
into Christmas sailings last year.
Perfectly framed by Tower Bridge stands
The Shard, which, from April 2012, is now
officially Europe's tallest building after a
giant 500-tonne spire was installed at its
pinnacle.
The Shard stands at around the same
height as the Eiffel Tower and will be
Europe's largest inhabited building but it
is more than 1,000 feet smaller than the
world's tallest building in Dubai.
The £450 million 87 storey Shard which
stands between London Bridge Station
and Guys Hospital will be a vertical town
with flats, restaurants, a five star hotel and
a viewing gallery that is going to be open
to the public. The building will offer
uninterrupted 360-degree views of the
capital, stretching for 40 miles in every
direction.
As soon as it is possible for groups to visit
we’ll be letting you know.
Cruising into Christmas is available on
Sundays through to Thursdays from
18 November to 6 December 2012.
Come and board our warm and comfortable
private charter boat at the old Millennium
Dome (The O
2
) at 4-00pm and enjoy a drink
from the bar while you take in London and the
Thames after dark with an entertaining
commentary from the skipper. At 5-30pm we
arrive at Waterloo Pier which is directly
beneath the London Eye.
To complete the evening you can opt for a
flight on the London Eye or a coach based
Christmas Lights & Sights Tour with a top
notch tour guide and still be heading out of
London no later than 7-30pm.
